Walking is simple and many people underestimate the health benefits of a regular walking program! While experts suggest 30-minutes of brisk walking daily, it can be difficult to incorporate that into your daily schedule.

Here is an example of a walking program perfect for those looking to reap the benefits of a regular walking program. This plan will help to build walking into your lifestyle at a manageable pace.


Week 1

Day 1 – 10- minute walk

Day 2 – 15-minute walk

Day 3 – 15-minute walk

Day 4 – 20-minute walk


Week 2

Day 1 – Go for Speed – 15-minute walk at a brisk pace

Day 2 – Leisure Walk – 20-minute walk at your regular pace

Day 3 – Hill Walk – 20-minute walk at regular pace – route should involve 2 hills

Day 4 – Leisure Walk – 20-minute walk at your regular pace


Week 3

Day 1 – Go for Speed – 20-minute walk at a brisk pace

Day 2 – Leisure Walk – 25-minute walk at your regular pace
