Uncertainty. This seems to be the word that is floating around the world right now. We’re uncertain about going to the grocery store. We’re uncertain about going outside. We’re uncertain of when we will get back to work. We’re uncertain of what that will look like when it happens. There are a lot of factors in the world that we cannot control right now, but I’m here to assure you that one thing you can be certain of is maintaining the progress you have accomplished in your rehab!

Here are a few tips on how you can maintain your rehab progress during COVID-19…
- Have a plan and write it down. Know what exercises you’re doing on which days. You may want to divide your exercises into strength and mobility or by body part. Figure out what works best for you and your injury and write down your plan!
- Same time, every day. Once you have made your plan and you know what exercises you’re doing on which days, you can determine how much time you will need daily to complete these exercise. Carve out 20-40 minutes each day to do your exercises. Consistency is key to progress!
- Print out your exercises. Post them on a wall or put them in a binder. Have them accessible so you can refer back to them if you forget.
- Communication. Many rehab professionals are offering virtual appointments. Take advantage of this and email your rehab professional for progressions or regressions.
Remember how far you have come and not just how far you have to go. You CAN stay on top of your rehab progress during this time. Happy rehabbing!
