Hi, I’m Krista! Founder of DEL.FIT Strength & Wellness, Strength Coach, Movement Specialist and Mom.
My background is rooted in both high level athletics and evidence based coaching. I’m a graduate of the University of Waterloo, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Honours Kinesiology and competed as a varsity athlete. Following graduation, I became a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength & Conditioning Association and pursued entrepreneurship through Georgian College’s Business & Entrepreneurship program.
My athletic journey began as a competitive gymnast with the Barrie Kempettes before transitioning to competitive swimming with the Barrie Trojans and later the University of Waterloo Warriors. Years of sport, performance, and injury gave me firsthand experience in the physical and mental demands of training — and shaped the way I coach today.
My perspective on health and performance deepened even further after surviving a cardiac arrest at 32 years old, an experience that fundamentally changed the way I view training, recovery, and resilience. It reinforced my belief that our health is never something to take for granted and strengthened my passion for helping others build strong, capable bodies that support them through every stage of life.
I specialize in helping busy adults build strength, move better, and stay resilient for life. My coaching philosophy is centered around longevity, performance, and sustainability, whether that means helping a golfer add power to their swing, supporting a first responder in staying strong for the demands of their job, guiding peri- and post-menopausal women through strength training, or helping active adults improve function, reduce pain, and maintain independence as they age.
I have worked with clients ranging from youth athletes to adults in their 80s, supporting goals such as strength development and performance, fat loss, injury prevention, post-rehab training, surgery preparation, and improving overall quality of life. I believe strength is one of the most powerful tools we have — not just for physical performance, but for confidence, mental resilience, and long-term health.
I’m passionate about continuing education and refining my craft. Alongside my CSCS, I hold my Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Level 1 & 2 Fitness certifications, allowing me to assess and build golf-specific strength programs for improved power, mobility, and injury prevention. I’m also a Certified Pain-Free Performance Specialist and hold my Functional Movement Screen (FMS) Level 1 certification.
When I’m not coaching or running DEL.FIT, I’m spending time with my husband, Alex, our sweet golden retriever Brooks, and embracing my newest (and favourite) role as a mom to our son, Jameson. Whether it’s time on the water, researching our next trip, or simply being active outdoors, movement and adventure are always a big part of our lives.
My goal is simple: to help people train with purpose, move with confidence, and build bodies that support the lives they want to live. I look forward to meeting you!
